At St Monica’s we educate our students by using the Sandhurst Diocesan Curriculum Framework, ‘Kinship with the Earth’. This guideline assists us as Christians in preserving God’s creation. It outlines three basic understandings: about the environment, in the environment and for the environment.
We recognise we have a responsibility to teach students how to act, what to act upon and why we should act towards a sustainable future.
Education for Sustainability
E.F.S. follows a weekly timetable. Topics covered over the course of the year are biodiversity, waste, energy and water.
Students also work with urbane Landcare and community groups in Wodonga. Students regularly participate in tree planting and restoration work around House Creek and the school grounds.
